What to do, what to see, what to visit?

* The village and surroundings
For a start, you should not miss the chance to walk the village, with its tree-covered streets, filled of rosebushes and many other plants that make La Rinconada a genuine painter palette full of colours in Spring. Enjoy a walk in which every time you meet any resident you will receive a smile and a "good morning" that will make you feel that time somehow has not passed here and the polite and gentle treatment from the old days is still alive in this little toledan corner. Also, you wil find out that the village is surrounded by tree-covered areas in more than a 50%, where the bird chants are a constant. Let yourself go and get yourself lost through the Tagus riverside, where you will find magnificent bank woods, will enjoy the water birds and will find small corners of a extreme beauty, like the "little dam". Little and relaxing scrolls in which you rarely will meet anyone.

* Santa María de Melque
Just about 5 minutes away by car from La Rinconada, in the direction of San Martín de Montalbán, we can find the Historical Site of Santa María de Melque. It is the best preserved medieval temple of the Iberian Peninsula from the middle of the 8th century, and a clear heritage of the architectural roman tradition. A genuine jewell of our heritage that we should not miss. See more.

* Toledo Mountains
The Toledo Mountains constitute one of the best and biggest samples of the mediterranean forest, which reaches its top in the Cabañeros´ National Park. It is considered the biggest and richest hunting reserve of Europe, where anyone can observe the deers or wild boars in its spots of pastures and valleys. Also, the park shelters the iberian linx and raptorials such as the imperial eagle, as a small sample of its big fauna wealth. A paradise for naturists and hunters as well as for the nature-loving. In autunm you can watch the spectacular beer bellow. It is really worth a visit to the Toledo Mountains; the villages, fauna and scenery will amaze you. See more.

* ...and for the palate???
Do not forget that you are in a strategic spot, gastronomycally and oenologycally speaking, of the Iberian Peninsula. Here meet denominations of origin such as Manchego Cheese, Castilla Wines, Méntrida Wines, and the exquisiteness that either The Osborne Group and the Marqués de Griñón are blending in Malpica de Tajo. We have to remenber as well that we are in the land of the Mazapán, a real masterpiece made with almonds and sugar. To my taste, the best are the ones produced in San Martín de Pusa, El Carpio de Tajo and La Mata, all these villages are within a radius of 30 km round La Rinconada.
